Sunview Patio Doors Celebrates 40th Anniversary as the Company Continues to Accelerate Growth<\/strong><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Sunview Patio Doors Ltd. (Sunview) announced today the official celebration of its 40th year in business. The company has grown from a small family-run operation serving Toronto and surrounding areas, to a leading patio door manufacturer with customers across Canada and the United States. With four decades behind them, the team at Sunview proudly reflects on the long, storied history of the company.<\/p>\n

Originally founded as Sunview Doors in 1978 by the Di Iorio family, the company started with eight employees in a 10,000 sq. ft. facility north of Toronto. In its infancy \u2013 and with only a single three-panel aluminum door to sell \u2013 the company found early success in the Toronto high-rise development boom of the 1980s. Sunview secured its first international clients in the 1990s with notable sales in Japan, South Africa, and the United States. The company\u2019s performance caught the attention of Canadian extrusions pioneer Vic De Zen who, in 2008, purchased Sunview and brought it into the Vision Group of Companies (Vision Group).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we decided to buy Sunview Doors in 2008, we knew we were acquiring a company with strong potential for future growth,\u201d said Vic De Zen, Chairman, and Founder of the Vision Group of Companies. \u201cAs a member of the Vision Group of Companies, Sunview has been able to turn our world-class extrusion capabilities into high-quality and durable end-user products. The spectacular growth that Sunview has experienced since 2008 is in large part thanks to its vertical integration within our family of companies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before becoming a member of the Vision Group, Sunview offered three products (two aluminum and one vinyl). Today, the company offers 13 product lines including three aluminum doors, eight vinyl doors, and two Glass Wall Systems. Since 1978, the company has grown to over 220 employees and its facilities are now more than twenty times larger than the original location\u2019s size.<\/p>\n

The volume of Sunview\u2019s business has also grown since the 2008 acquisition; by the end of 2016, Sunview had doubled its annual revenues to become the largest exclusive patio door manufacturer in North America. The success has come in large part from building a strong distribution network of window fabricators, developers, architects, and others. Also, through an increasing presence in the U.S. market and strong relationships with some of the largest window fabricators in North America.<\/p>\n

The progressive use of technology has always been an important part of the Sunview story. The company relocated to a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Vaughan\u2019s business park in 2009. This new facility is equipped with a fully-automated warehousing system, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and robotic glass handlers. In addition, the company deployed one of Canada\u2019s first UV-based finishing technologies – their exclusive UV ToughCoat system.<\/p>\n

Sunview has also been a leader in product innovation. It was first to design and manufacture unique solutions like the 2900 Hybrid Series and award-winning new Leggera Glass Wall System – which uses advanced magnetic levitation to support extremely large and heavy glass panels without track and roller systems.<\/p>\n
